Group Profiles are used to combine multiple titles or sub-profiles into a single Profile within one Publisher Workspace. This setup streamlines the creation of syndicated content or packages that run across multiple mastheads.

This guide explains how to structure Group Profiles in PubSuite and when to use Products, Bundles, or Private Offers based on your needs.

How Group Profiles Work in PubSuite

A Group Profile is created as its own Partner Profile, made up of multiple Sub-Profiles (titles) that are available within your Workspace. This enables you to build Products that syndicate or run across selected combinations of titles or regions within that group.

Step 1: Create the Group Profile as a Profile

  • Go to Manage Partner Profiles

  • Create a new Profile (e.g. “AU Cluster”)

  • Add the Sub-Profiles (titles) that make up the Group (e.g. Wellness Sydney, Wellness Melbourne, Wellness Brisbane, Wellness Adelaide)

Only users with Workspace Manager, Organisation Manager, or Publisher Profile Manager access can create or edit Partner Profiles. To learn how to update user roles, visit How To: Update User Roles in Avid PubSuite - please note that only users with the necessary permissions can assign or modify roles.

Step 2: Build Products within the Group Profile

Once your Group exists as a Profile, you can create one with all of the Sub-Profiles, or multiple Products that represent different combinations of its Sub-Profiles, depending on your needs.

Product Name

Titles Included

Wellness – 1 Sub-Profile

1 Sub-Profile (e.g. Wellness Sydney only)

Wellness – 2 Sub-Profiles

Publisher can select 2 out of 4 Sub-Profiles (e.g., Wellness Sydney and Wellness Melbourne) when building their Media Plan in Campaign Builder

Wellness – All Sub-Profiles

Publisher can select all 4 Sub-Profiles when building their Media Plan in Campaign Builder

This allows flexibility to build based on commonly booked combinations, or set fixed rules (e.g. "Pick any 3").

Guidelines for Structuring Group Profile Products

Scenario

Recommendation

Same combinations booked regularly

Build fixed products (e.g. Wellness – All Sub-Profiles)

Title combinations vary per client

Build a Private Offer Product under the Cluster Profile, and set an expiry.

Need dynamic title selection per campaign

Use pre-built options like “2 Sub-Profiles” or “3 Sub-Profiles” within the Cluster Profile (as above), and nominate titles per booking; or make Manual Line Item Adjustments in the Media Plan to customise.

A Group Profile setup is best used for when the same content is syndicated (i.e. the same article runs across multiple titles). If different pieces of content are being used per title, use individual products and group them into a Bundle.

All users with access to Campaign Builder can use the Group Profiles and their associated Products once created. However, to create or edit Group Profiles (i.e. Partner Profiles with Sub-Profiles), you must have Workspace Manager, Organisation Manager, and Publisher Profile Manager permissions.

Tips for Keeping Your Product Catalogue Clean

  • Use clear naming conventions for Products (e.g. “Wellness Cluster – 3 Sub-Profiles”)

  • Set expiry dates for bespoke Private Offer Products or Bundles to avoid clutter

  • Only create fixed combinations if they're booked repeatedly

  • For one-off campaigns, use Manual Line Item Adjustments or Private Offers Products or Bundles
