What Does “Approving Content” Mean?

Approving content means you’re giving final sign off that the content is ready to be published as is. Once approved, the publisher will proceed to set the content live based on what’s been signed off.

Why This Checklist Matters

What you approve is exactly what will go live. Reviewing this checklist helps ensure:

  • Messaging is accurate and aligns with your campaign goals

  • All brand and compliance requirements are met

  • Assets, formatting, and links are correct

  • The content is fully ready for publishing without further revisions

Content Approval Checklist

Before approving, check the following:

Accuracy & Fact Checks

  • Product names, offers, pricing, and claims are correct

  • Key details (dates, locations, features) are accurate

  • Brand references are correct and up to date

Messaging & Alignment

  • The content reflects your campaign objective and key messages

  • The main takeaway is clear and easy to understand

Brand Requirements

  • All mandatory inclusions (e.g. disclaimers, legal, required mentions) are included

  • No restricted or non compliant wording is used

Formatting & Presentation

  • Headline, subheadings, and layout read clearly

  • Spelling and grammar are correct

  • Images are placed correctly and make sense in context

Assets & Creative

  • Correct logos, images, videos, and display assets are used

  • No placeholders or draft images remain

Links, Tracking & CTAs

  • CTA links go to the correct destination

  • Tracking links (UTMs/1x1s) are correct where required

  • All required links are present and working

Final Sense Check

  • Nothing important is missing

  • You’re comfortable with this version going live

What Happens After You Approve

Once you approve the content, the publisher will use that exact version to prepare it for publishing. This moves the content into the final steps before going live.

If changes are needed after approval, the content may need to go back through another review round, which can delay the scheduled go live date. Some publishers may also charge additional fees for post approval changes.
