What Does “Cannot Continue” Mean?

The “Cannot Continue” message appears when a mandatory field, upload, or step hasn’t been completed. This is the platform’s way of ensuring all essential information is provided before you move to the next stage of the workflow.

Common reasons this message appears include:

  • A required field hasn’t been filled in (e.g. campaign objective, key dates)

  • An asset upload is missing or incomplete (e.g. you uploaded one file but the spec requires two).

  • A validation error has occurred (e.g. incorrect file format)

  • A step in the workflow needs your action before progressing (e.g. approving a content plan or marking review complete).

The message will disappear once all required mandatory fields and uploads are provided. If you’re unsure what’s missing, scroll back through the page, the field that needs attention will be highlighted.

What Triggers The “Cannot Continue” Message?

You’ll see this message when you try to move to the next step (e.g. clicking Next, submitting for review, or progressing content) but one or more required fields or setup steps haven’t been completed.

Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*). If any required fields or missing detail and information are left blank, the platform will highlight them and show an error message (e.g. “Description is required” or “URL is required”) so you know exactly what needs to be filled in before you can continue.

Most Common Reasons You’ll See This Message

Missing required information

  • Mandatory fields (marked with *) haven’t been filled in (e.g. campaign name, campaign descriptions,).

  • A required contact, stakeholder, or approver hasn’t been set for the campaign.

Required uploads not added

  • Key assets haven’t been uploaded (e.g. images, display assets).

  • Required links (e.g. content links, URLs) are missing

Asset or content validation issues

  • Uploaded assets don’t meet size, format, or spec requirements.

Tracking or setup incomplete

  • Tracking links (e.g. UTM, 1x1) haven’t been entered where required.

  • A required setup step hasn’t been completed before progressing.
