What Is This Guide For?

This guide explains how Publisher Profiles become discoverable inside Publisher Discovery. You’ll learn the conditions that make your profile visible, how guest publishers appear in Private Platforms, what advertisers see, and the best practices to improve your visibility and ranking.

What Is Publisher Discovery?

Publisher Discovery is the search and comparison engine used by advertisers inside Shopfront. It helps them explore and shortlist publishers that align with their campaign goals — based on filters like category, audience, campaign type, and formats.

Advertisers can:

  • View Publisher Profiles

  • Explore Case Studies and Opportunities

  • Shortlist and brief publishers directly in-platform

For advertisers, it's a discovery-to-engagement tool. For publishers, it's your visibility engine — but only if you're switched on and in the right workspaces.

How Guest Publishers Appear in Discovery for Private Platforms

If you're a guest publisher — meaning you're part of a workspace you don't own (Private Platform) — your profile can appear in Publisher Discovery only after you've accepted the invitation and enabled visibility.

Here's how it works:

  • You’re invited as a Guest Publisher into another organisation’s workspace (e.g. a private platform).

  • You must accept the invite and complete your profile setup

  • Once complete, your profile must be published and your profile status toggled “on”

  • Only then will you appear in Publisher Discovery via that workspace

Until you complete these steps, your profile will not be visible, even if you've filled in all the Edit Profile content.

When You're Discoverable (and When You're Not)

You will only appear in Discovery under these conditions:

✅ Visible in Discovery

❌ Not Visible in Discovery

You've joined the workspace

You haven't accepted the invite

Your profile status is "On"

Your profile is in "Draft"

You've completed your profile

Your profile is missing required info

You've agreed to guest visibility

You haven't opted into profile sharing

⚠️ If you're managing multiple titles, each Sub-Profile must also be toggled on individually to be searchable.

What Advertisers See in Discovery

When your profile is discoverable:

  • Advertisers can filter for your category, audience, formats and campaign types and turn around times

  • Your profile shows up alongside others within that workspace based on the search query

  • Your case studies and opportunities are surfaced contextually in search

  • Advertisers can explore your offering, view search results, and submit briefs directly

Discovery results are powered by the structured data in your profile, so tagging and completeness are essential.

Best Practices for Guest Publishers

  • Complete your profile before publishing: This improves your ranking and visibility.

  • Accept workspace invites promptly: You can’t be discovered without joining.

  • Toggle your profile status to “On”: This activates your visibility in that workspace.

  • Tag all fields accurately: Discovery filters rely on tags like category, audience, and format.

  • Keep opportunities and case studies fresh: They improve engagement and search performance.
