How Briefs Come Through Collab Platform

There are two ways you may receive a brief through Collab Platform:

  • Direct Briefs: sent directly by an agency or advertiser using Collab Platform

  • Avid Managed Service Briefs: sent by Avid as part of an Avid Managed Service campaign

The pathway determines who owns the brief, who coordinates partner communications and who your commercial arrangement is with.

Direct Briefs From Agencies or Advertisers

Direct briefs are sent to you by an agency or advertiser using Collab Platform on a self-serve basis.

How It Works

  • An agency or advertiser sends the brief directly to you through Collab Platform.

  • The brief appears in your Collab Platform inbox.

  • You accept the brief and submit your proposal through the platform.

Who Manages The Brief

  • The agency or advertiser is the brief owner and manager

  • The brief owner is responsible for updates, shortlisting decisions and final partner selection.

Commercial Arrangements and Fees

  • Your commercial arrangement is directly with the agency or advertiser.

  • Avid charges the advertiser a platform fee.

  • You do not pay Avid any platform fees for the brief.

Budget

  • The budget shared with you is your total gross budget.

  • This will usually include agency commission.

Briefs Through Avid Managed Service

An agency may engage and pay Avid to manage the campaign on its behalf. Avid manages the brief within Collab Platform on behalf of the agency. Avid coordinates partner communications, updates and responses, while the agency remains the end client.

The Avid Managed Service may include:

  • Brief distribution

  • Partner management

  • Consolidation of partner responses

  • Campaign delivery oversight

How It Works

  • Avid sends you the brief through Collab Platform as part of a managed service workflow.

  • Avid coordinates partner questions, campaign timelines and next steps.

  • Avid consolidates partner responses and shares them with the agency.

Brief Owner

  • Avid is the brief owner in Collab Platform for the purpose of partner communications.

  • Avid manages brief updates and coordinates communication between partners and the agency.

Commercial Arrangements and Fees

  • Your commercial arrangement is with Avid for that campaign.

  • Avid charges the advertiser a platform fee and/or managed service fee.

  • You do not pay Avid any platform of managed service fees unless you have separately signed a revenue-share agreement relating to platform promotion.

Budget

  • The budget shared with you is your total gross budget.

  • This will usually include agency commission.

How Can I Tell Which Type Of Brief I’ve Received?

Check who is owning and managing the brief and who is coordinating communication.

  • Direct Brief: The agency or advertiser owns the brief, communicates directly with you and makes the shortlisting and final selection decisions.

  • Avid Managed Service Brief: Avid owns the brief for partner communications and coordinates questions, timelines, updates and responses on behalf of the agency.
