What is a Content Plan?

A Content Plan outlines the proposed direction for each content piece before production begins. It’s initially created using your campaign briefing form information to ensure alignment with your objectives, messaging, and requirements.

Reviewing and approving the Content Plan confirms the agreed content direction and ensures all stakeholders are aligned before production starts.

Prioritising this step helps set your campaign up for success by reducing revisions, and ensuring content meets expectations.

1.Navigate to your Advertiser Homepage.

When a content plan is ready for review, it will appear as a task in your To-Do list. This means the publisher has completed their planning and your review is needed before production can begin.

2. Click "Review" to view the content plan for the campaign.

3. You can also access the content plan by navigating to "Active Campaigns" and selecting the relevant campaign.

4. You’ll be directed to the Content Plan Review page, where you can see how many phases are included in the campaign and review each phase individually.

Each phase must be reviewed and approved separately. If your campaign has multiple phases, you can review and approve them one at a time and return to later phases without impacting production on phases that have already been approved.

Click "Review" to open the Phase 1 Content Plan.

5. Inside the Content Plan, you’ll see each content piece listed individually, along with its associated secondary content pieces used as traffic drivers.

Each Primary content piece includes:

  • Publisher Name

  • Content Name

  • Content Format

  • Proposed Live Date

  • Content Objective

  • Content Style

  • Key messages

  • Content Link

Scroll horizontally to view the full details.

6. Click the “+” icon to add feedback or comments. Anything you add here is shared directly with the publisher and is used to request changes or provide clarification.

7. When adding feedback, a pop up box will appear. Use the dropdown to select the specific content detail you are commenting on (e.g. Content Objective or Content Style).

This helps the publisher understand exactly what needs to be updated. You can add as many comments as you need.

8. When you need to add campaign specific guidance that isn’t covered in the standard fields, click "Add Custom Field".

Use this to include details such as legal or compliance requirements, approval notes, or any extra instructions the publisher should follow for this content piece.

9. In the pop up box, enter a Field Label and Content Description, then click "Save".

This information becomes visible to the publisher within the content plan.

10. When you want to apply the same feedback to multiple content pieces within a phase, click "Copy to All". This allows you to apply consistent guidance across all items at once, saving time and keeping feedback aligned.

11. Scroll down to review the next content piece and repeat the review process.

Each piece should be checked individually to ensure the details are accurate and the approach aligns with your expectations before production begins.

12. If you need to pause your review, click "Save & Complete Later".

Your progress will be saved and you can return at any time.

13. Once you’ve finished Phase 1, return to the Content Plan Review page. If your campaign includes additional phases, select "Review" on the next phase and follow the same process.

Phases can be reviewed at a later date in line with your campaign timeline and reviewing later phases won’t impact production on phases that have already been approved.

14. When you’re happy with the content direction and have added your feedback, click “Mark Review Complete.”

If feedback is provided, the publisher will make revisions and resubmit the content plan for your approval. You’ll then review the updated version and either approve it or "adopt" and "dismiss" the changes.

Each content plan includes two rounds of feedback to ensure everything is aligned before production begins. Once the final version is approved and you click “Mark Review Complete,” the campaign will progress to production.
