Get answers to common questions about Brand Lift Study setup, reporting timelines, response rates, and eligibility criteria with Avid and Brand Metrics.

What’s the standard response rate?

Response rates vary based on how open the audience is to interacting with the on-page survey widget. Avid follows the recommended best practices such as customising the widget using your colors and logo. Brand Metrics has observed that response rates improve as users see the widget more frequently and become familiar with it. Brand Metrics require a minimum of 100 total respondents per campaign to generate Campaign-Level insights.

Can we ‘unlock’ visibility as to how the campaign is sitting once we hit 100 responses?

No. The Brand Metrics portal does not provide real-time updates or early visibility. Results can only be accessed after the full campaign period ends.

When does Avid get access to the final report?

The measurement remains open for 7 days after the campaign end date to collect any remaining sample. Avid can access the report one week after campaign conclusion. After which, we can share it with you.

Why does the Brand Metrics “impressions” metric not match my “article views” metric?

A Brand Metrics "impression" is recorded as soon as the URL is matched via the ntv listener—this occurs almost immediately upon page load. While these metrics should align closely, discrepancies greater than approximately 10% may indicate a script implementation error and should be escalated to Brand Metrics and the publisher's development team.

When does a user get served a Brand Metrics survey?

A user will be served a survey when either of the following is true:

  • They have spent at least 20 seconds on the article, or

  • They have scrolled at least 20% down the page.

What information does Avid have access to from a Brand Metrics study?

No personal data is processed or stored. Avid receives only brand-lift metrics (response data, benchmark comparisons, etc.), which are owned by Avid and are entirely non-personal.

Is it hard to implement Brand Metrics?

Not at all - implementing Brand Metrics is simple and flexible.

All that’s required is placing the Brand Metrics tag on your campaign landing page, ideally within the <head> section. Most partners use a tag manager like Google Tag Manager (GTM) or Tealium, which makes implementation quick and easy.

Alternatively, you can:

  • Add the tag directly into your Content Management System (CMS)

  • Use a header injection tool or solution

  • Or manually embed the script into your site’s code

Here’s an example of the tag you’ll need to place:

This is an example tag for illustrative purposes only, please don’t use this tag.

We’re here to support you throughout implementation if needed - most publishers complete this in just a few minutes.

Can we use Brand Metrics for video-only or social-only campaigns?

No. Brand Lift Studies are only supported for article-based campaigns.

Can we split the Brand Lift Study into pre-, mid-, and post-campaign stages?

No. Brand Metrics measures brand impact through a single, carefully designed question shown only to people exposed to the campaign. This question aligns with their algorithm and tracks changes across four key areas: Awareness, Consideration, Preference, and Action Intent.

Can I customise the survey or add more questions?

The survey is intentionally limited to one question to maximise response rates and reduce drop-off. Adding more questions is technically possible but not recommended, as it increases drop-off and requires higher traffic volumes.

Can we pay to upgrade or customise the study?

No. There is only one standardised version of the Brand Lift Study.

What is the sample size of Brand Lift Study to be eligible?
