1. Create a Display Distribution in Campaign
Navigate to your content piece and open the Production Items & Placements tab.
Click Add New and select Display
Complete any required fields for the distribution
Save the distribution
An Ad Link ID will be generated automatically. This unique ID is used to match GAM delivery data back to the correct distribution, so make a note of it.
2. Add the Ad Link ID to Your GAM Creative Name
Open Google Ad Manager and create your creative as you normally would. When entering the Creative Name, prefix it with the Ad Link ID generated in Step 1.
Example:
36-137-644_The Music_Summer Campaign_300x250
Using the Ad Link ID as the first part of the creative name allows Campaign to automatically identify and match reporting data during the scheduled GAM import.
3. Set the Distribution Live and Begin Delivery in GAM
Once your creative has been trafficked and your line item is ready to serve in Google Ad Manager:
Set the line item to Delivering in GAM.
Return to Campaign.
Open the Display distribution and click Mark as Scheduled / Live.
Your distribution is now active and ready to receive reporting data from GAM.
4. Reporting Is Automatically Matched
After the distribution has been marked Live and the scheduled Google Ad Manager data import has run, navigate to Reporting Centre → Reconciliation → Step 3: Google Ad Manager.
Here you'll see the distribution automatically listed under Auto Reconciled (via the implementation in GAM of the Ad Link ID). This confirms that the platform has successfully matched the GAM creative to your Display distribution.
Once the match has been confirmed:
Delivery data will automatically flow into the associated distribution.
Reporting metrics such as Impressions and Clicks will continue to update with each daily data import.
No further manual reconciliation or reporting setup is required.
Tip: If a creative doesn't appear under Auto Reconciled, check that the Ad Link ID was added to the beginning of the GAM creative name exactly as it appears in the Campaign.
