Definition

Data Reconciliation is a step-by-step process to connect ad data—such as Facebook, Instagram, or Google Analytics—that couldn’t be automatically matched in the platform. You only have to do it once in the beginning in the campaign. Once linked, the data will update automatically every day, keeping your dashboards accurate and up-to-date with minimal effort.

If data can’t be automated or is opted out of automation, you’ll need to create a manual data entry and set a reporting cadence (e.g., daily, weekly) to ensure the data stays current. The platform will then guide you through what data to update and when.

Two types of data reconciliation

There are two key data record types you can use to update your dashboard data - Automatic and Manual.

What can be included as automatic entry?

  • Organic social posts

    • No intervention required. Once you provide the prompted post ID or live URL for an organic post after it goes live, Avid PubSuite can automatically extract and update its data daily. No further action is required after this setup.

  • Paid amplification posts:

    • Minimal set up required. A one-time setup step is needing during the daily reconciliation process (the day after the ad goes live). After that, no additional manual work is required.

    • To make this process even easier, use Smart Labelling (learn more [here]), which automates the data matching process and reduces errors (available from Mid December).

What requires manual entry?

  • Channels that are not connected (via API)

    • You’ll need to manually enter data at the frequency you set in your Reporting Centre settings.

    • During the reconciliation process, manual data entries that are due to be updated are outlined in a specific step, facilitating a streamlined execution process.

    • Avid PubSuite recommends updating this data every 7-14 days to keep your dashboard accurate.
